requires-python said >=3.8 while huggingface_hub 1.x, transformers 5.x and torch 2.14 all need 3.10, so pip installed laya on 3.9 and failed later. Classifiers advertised 3.8/3.9 and stopped at 3.12. setup.py held a second, already divergent copy of the metadata; it is a shim now and pyproject owns it, including the package list that find_packages() used to supply. transformers floor moves to 4.48: the checkpoints load ModernBERT-large, which 4.45 does not know. CI matrix moves 3.9 to 3.10 and the README states the range. The incompatible-model error pointed at convaiinnovations/rl-agent, which the Hub answers with 401. It now names a real checkpoint and says where the config lives.
