Sigurd Schneider e0ab5f1fcc [cleanup] Improve types in ConsoleModel ...

Follow-up to https://crrev.com/c/2987959 that changes semantics
slightly: In a couple of places we don't convert the empty string
to undefined anymore, and we use undefined instead of null in a couple
of other places after this CL. Our educated guess is that it doesn't
matter.
