json.dump appears to add extraneous spaces before newline characters. By specifying the separators option, we can remove these whitespaces, reducing the diff noise. Returns a promise that resolves to a boolean of whether the path is the checked type.
.fileSync(path)

Returns a boolean of whether the path is the checked type.
